While plastic surgery hasn't ended well for some stars — and by that, we mean unfortunate body-shaping mistakes or even ruined some celebrity careers — many people think Gwen Stefani has taken a risk by getting the job done. Honestly, if you're a fan of the singer and haven't noticed her rumors about her supposedly frozen face full of it, then she's probably in the minority.
For example, the buzz was sparked in April 2019 when Stefani
performed at the Academy of Country Music Awards and "some social media
users were quick to say that [she 'didn't] look like herself, ' speculating
on whether the singer [got] plastic surgery on her lips and face," according
to USA Today. This was followed by an appearance in January 2020, triggering
what the Daily Mail deemed "backlash from fans who [were] insisting that she
looked completely 'unrecognizable' at the Grammy Awards, with some
speculating that she had received 'surgery. plastic' or 'stuffed'”.
When the ACM Awards rolled again in September 2020, people were
still focused on Stefani's face, with one social media user tweeting the
star directly, writing, "Jesus lord what did you do to your face? Plastic
Surgery Gone Wrong 101. Wow." Um, ouch! While the Daily Mail noted that if
Stefani "is aware of the backlash, she seems like she's willing to ignore
it" and has apparently not responded to the speculation, some insiders were
willing to weigh in.
Experts believe that Gwen Stefani may have had quite a few cosmetic
procedures
While Gwen Stefani hasn't admitted to having any cosmetic
procedures done, professionals in the field were keen to tell Life &
Style about the possibility that the singer had plastic surgery. The
consensus: She probably has. And frankly, she could have done more than you
suspected.
"It appears that [Stefani] has had cheek fillers, a rhinoplasty to smooth out the bump...on the side view of her nose, Botox to droop her upper lip to reduce her gummy smile, lip injections (see the clumsiness of her lip upper), and a chin implant,” explained Dr. Michelle Yagoda Life & Style in June 2020. On top of that, Dr. Leslie Gerstman, an expert in cosmetic and laser medicine, noted that she "looks like she's had Botox to smooth out her crow's feet and raise her eyebrows" and she might have had "a lip augmentation" as well.
Though Dr. David Shafer noted that "a lot of [Stefani's] look of hers is her makeup and her lighting," the plastic surgery professional also added that she's "certainly filters too." Whatever Stefani may or may not have done, Dr. Shafer concluded that the star "is a beautiful person," and it's definitely hard to deny it.
