Daisy Ridley became known worldwide by starring in the latest Star Wars movies. Now, the actress is on everyone's lips because she denied being a privileged woman and many jumped to criticize her.
Daisy Ridley, known worldwide for her role as Rey in the Star
Wars saga, became a focus of attention due to some statements she made on
December 7 in an interview for The Guardian. There, the actress defended
that her family and educational situation has not been privileged.
When asked if it had been easier for her than other people to
be confident and live well in her role as a celebrity because of her
privileges, Daisy Ridley dismissed the question: "The privilege that I have,
how? No, really, how?" she said, adding, "I was always quite confident, and
I think that comes from being part of a big family that is very
talkative."
The Star Wars protagonist comes from a family that has had some
connections to the world of television, as her great-uncle Arnold Ridley
acted in the series 'Dad's Army' and her grandfather, John Harry Dunn
Ridley, was chief engineer of the BBC, as well as being an officer of the
Order of the British Empire. Furthermore, Daisy Ridley was also educated at
a private performing arts boarding school.
