Selena Gomez revealed that her songs dedicated to Justin Bieber caused her deep pain when recording them…
Selena has finally released her new album 'Rare', a musical project
that took her two long years to complete, because in new statements she
confesses that it was a nightmare to record some of the songs that reveal
the pain caused by her thunder with Justin Bieber.
In those two
years, Sel was in a relationship with The Weeknd, and then returned to
Justin's arms in October 2017, unfortunately in March 2018 the couple ended,
and the singer began dating Hailey Baldwin, whom he decided to marry. two
months in New York. All this Selena captures in her song 'Lose You To Love
Me', and tells how her recovery was in 'Look At Her Now'.
“Honestly, this album was kind of a nightmare to deal with… but in
the best possible way. Two years ago I thought I was ready. I had put
together all these beautiful sessions and I don't even remember half of them
because it evolved every year. And then something would happen to me and it
would be very drastic for it to take me to another place. Then all of a
sudden I found this healing and I saw something bigger than I thought it
was, and I think that added the whole end of the album”: Selena declared in
a video for Spotify.
Selena also explained why the name of her
record, 'Rare', which translates to "rare", is so important to her:
"So
I heard 'weird' a few years ago and thought it was me, if that makes sense.
Obviously I've had a lot of self-esteem issues in the past. I still struggle
with confidence, it's going to be something I'll always be working on. And
so 'weird' made me feel amazing and I ended up cutting the record before
everything else came together. And I never let that go. That name was very
important to me. The moment I heard it, I was like, 'That's the name of my
album,' and that I want people to know that they're valued and rare and
important."
Selena continued talking and when she started talking about her
Selenators, she couldn't hold back her tears, as she is super grateful for
all their love and support: “I love, I love my fans very much and I think
it's not that I love them because they love me. I love them because it
really has been about the journey. And I feel like I grew up with a lot of
people. And the most heartbreaking conversations are where they just tell me
they're hurting. I never got it. When people said 'you saved my life', I
just didn't get it.
And I always wish I could grab each one of them and tell them how
loved they are, how important they are, how they are capable of absolutely
anything. And if I did all of this and I'm just a girl from Texas and it's
still happening to me… they can do anything.
And I've had a lot of times when people didn't trust me. And they
just help you fall apart. But I would just say that… I would say that you're
beautiful or you're exactly where you need to be, whatever it is. Even if
it's so hard, you're worth it. And you always have to choose
yourself.”
Although it was a nightmare, Selena finally healed when she recorded
'Rare', are you ready to listen to each and every one of her songs?
