Singer Selena Gomez responds to criticism of her alleged "overweight"
The singer and actress responds to those who from Instagram have called her "fat" for the photos of her in a bikini
Social networks, specifically their users, decided to
sharpen their finger to criticize in an unsubtle way, the photos of Selena
Gomez in a bikini in which many did not hesitate to call the singer "fat".
Some users, less hurtful and more consistent, responded to the photos to
tell the former Disney girl that she was "beautiful" and that she was not
overweight.
In the same images you can see the scar
resulting from the kidney transplant to which the artist underwent. Gomez
did not hesitate to respond to her critics with a video in which she can be
seen enjoying the sun on a yacht in the company of her friends and touring
Sydney Bay, accompanying it with the following text: "The myth of beauty: a
obsession with physical perfection that traps modern women in an endless
cycle of hopelessness and self-loathing as they try to meet society's
impossible definition of beauty."
In the same text, she assures that if she takes care of her
physical appearance, it is because she does it for herself and not for
anyone else.
Gomez received a kidney transplant from her friend Francia Raisa, who
earlier this month spoke about the procedure that made it possible to save
the singer's life.
Raisa acknowledged that they both went through depression and
that recovery was very difficult for both of them, "we just wanted to be
normal and not attract attention," said Selena Gomez's friend.
