Page Six has exclusively learned that Will Smith and Chris Rock
are expected to work out their issues after the now-infamous slap in the
face at a post-awards show event.
The two are expected to attend Vanity Fair's annual Oscars
party, but it's unclear if they'll make it up before or during that evening.
But match sources tell us that moments after Smith "hit Rock," security
immediately began strategizing because Smith had more than 20 attendees at
his match.
Sources at the Academy Awards also told us after the slap was
seen around the world that everyone backstage "thought it was a joke and not
real."

Sean "Diddy" Combs, who took the stage after the incident, had
to turn his speech around and "went back up to get the room up." We're also
told that Diddy talked to Smith and Rock, who agreed to make amends later in
the night.
In a twist only the Academy could write, Smith ended up winning
Best Actor for his role in "King Richard" minutes after he attacked Rock for
a joke about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith's baldness. .
Page Six is told that Diddy spoke to both of them after the

said during his emotional speech.

Smith also
said that he had to suffer disrespect in his career.
"You have to
smile, you have to pretend that's okay," he said.
Smith was
defending his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, when she slapped Rock.
Smith, 53, didn't mention the "Grown Ups" star by name throughout his
speech, but vaguely alluded to his fight and apologized to everyone but
Rock.
“I want to apologize to the academy. I want to apologize to all
my fellow nominees. This is a beautiful moment and I am not crying about
winning an award,” he said. “It's not about winning an award for me; it is
about being able to enlighten all people.”
