Will Smith yelled at Chris Rock to "keep [his] wife's name out of her fucking mouth" after punching the comedian in the arm.

 

The unexpected moment occurred during the 94th Academy Awards, which took place on Sunday night (March 27) at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, Los Angeles.

 

“Jada, I love you. GI Jane 2, can't wait to see you," the comedian joked onstage, referring to Jada Pinkett Smith's shaved head.


Pinkett Smith announced last year that she shaved her head after battling baldness.

She could be seen rolling her eyes at the prank in the audience along with her husband Will Smith.

The comment caused Smith to stand up and walk onto the stage, prompting Rock to joke, "Uh oh..."

After Smith punches Rock in the arm, she walks offstage and proceeds to take a seat.

"Will Smith just beat the crap out of me," Rock said.

Smith is then heard yelling, "Keep my wife's name out of your fucking mouth," to which Rock replied, "Wow... dude. It was a GI Jane joke."

"Keep my wife's name out of your fucking mouth," Smith yells again.

“I'm going to…” Rock replied, who seemed nervous about the interaction.

 

“That was the biggest night in the history of television…”, he said before proceeding to present the award for Best Documentary.

Many viewers reported that the sound of the televised broadcast cut out during Smith's outburst to cut out the swearing.
