Which actor walked off the set after a disgusting lawsuit?
This Friday, Johnny Depp announced that he will stop playing Gellert
Grindelwald, a character from the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them
saga, which belongs to the Harry Potter universe, after the alleged case of
domestic violence that was reported by his ex-wife, Amber Heard.
Through a statement, the 57-year-old actor reported that
"Warner Bros have asked me to resign from the role of Grindelwald in
Fantastic Animals and I have respected and accepted that request."
In addition, Depp maintained that “the unreal of the court in
the United Kingdom will not change my fight for telling the truth and I can
confirm that I plan to appeal. My resolve remains strong and I intend to
prove that the accusations against me are false. My life and career will not
be defined by this moment in time."
The actor also took advantage of the space to thank those
who have given him their support "and loyalty". "I am humbled and moved by
the many messages of love and concern from him, particularly in recent
days," he said.
On November 2, Depp lost the lawsuit he had filed against The
Sun, a British newspaper that he accused of defamation after they referred
to him as a "beater of women".
In this regard, the Supreme Court of London determined that the
actor was not entitled to compensation for defamation, since it was proven
that he physically and verbally assaulted his ex-wife.
Depp and Heard married in February 2015, and in May 2016 she
filed for divorce and a restraining order against her for verbally and
physically assaulting her.
