"At first I thought it was a joke," Maisie Williams revealed to Entertainment Weekly. The actress spoke with the producers and they told her; "'No, we haven't done that this year.'
Maisie Williams also indicated that it was somewhat awkward to film the scene because she wanted to act as if nothing was happening. "No one wants to make you feel uncomfortable, which makes you feel more uncomfortable, because no one wants to see anything they shouldn't be looking at, which in turn makes you feel like you look horrible," she said.
Joseph Dempsie, actor who plays Gendry, said that the experience was somewhat strange for him. "Obviously it's a bit weird for me because I've known Maisie since she was 11, 12 years old," the 31-year-old actor said.
Maisie Williams ended the interview by stating that the scene was very important to Arya, because she was getting back in touch with humanity that way.
“This is something that she has stayed away from, an emotion that we have never seen her engage with,” says the actress. "It's interesting to see Arya be a little more human, talk more normally about things that people are afraid of," said Maisie Williams.
