The secret behind Marie Antoinette's wedding dress
Marie Antoinette was the last queen consort of France. She was born in 1755 in Vienna, Austria. At the age of 14, she married the future King of France, Louis XVI, at the Palace of Versailles on May 16, 1770. Her life was full of controversies and she is considered a fashion icon.
The spectacular wedding dress that she wore on her wedding day
was white with silver accents and decorated with diamonds. Marie Antoinette
wanted to look up to the French aristocracy that had the most luxurious
designs in the world.
The big problem with the dress is that the designer miscalculated the measurements of the future queen and did not close her. The result was that in the end there was a gap between the two rows of diamonds. Unfortunately, it is not known where this dress was left.
