She was a waitress! The incredible Background of Dua Lipa

Her name is: Dua Lipa.
She is about the woman of the moment and she is the "little
hen" that lays the golden eggs, but in music. Her first album managed to
position itself as the most played by a female artist in the history of the
Spotify platform; while his Nostalgia Future, the second in his short
career, has reached the top five places on music charts in countries such as
Germany, Australia, Canada, Spain, the United States, Italy, New Zealand,
Portugal, his native United Kingdom and a long etcetera.
But how did a young Kosovar Albanian refugee daughter,
who earned her living working in nightclubs, achieve such achievements? And
what we have mentioned is just a small part of the curious life of the
British.
And yes, her name is Dua Lipa
No, it is not a stage name but her name that her parents,
Dukagjin Lipa and Anesa Rexha, chose for her.
This a name of Albanian origin that means love. But despite her
cute definition, the interpreter of Levitating did not always like her, as
she confessed that she did not like her when she was little.
Dukagjin and Anesa, Dua's parents, fled in
1992 from Printina, the capital of Kosovo, where a bloody war was brewing
that led to the intervention of the UN. The couple managed to settle in
London and soon after welcomed their first daughter, today one of the most
famous singers in the world.
With the end of the war, the family decided to return to their
country to work on building a better homeland. Although it was difficult for
her to read and write, Ella Dua was fluent in her mother tongue, so
inserting herself was not difficult.
What she did get complicated was taking her first steps in
music, so after much thought she grabbed her suitcase full of dreams and
returned to London.
In order to pay for her studies, the now
super-famous she had to work from what came out. She was a waitress in a
Mexican restaurant, a hostess in a nightclub and a model for the virtual
catalog of ASOS Marketplace, but she was forced to sweat the fat drop to be
able to do parades and she refused.
In 2013 she managed to sign a contract with an artist
representation company that saw her talent sprout even from her pores, so
they convinced her to leave her job as a waitress in a bar and offered to
pay her a monthly salary, as long as she concentrated just making
music.
The result? She co-wrote "Hotter than Hell," which gave her a
direct pass to signing with Warner Music, the record company that still
backs her.
stumbles
For the British singer, not everything
was blowing and making bottles or, in this case, opening her mouth and
making sure of success.
When she was a child she auditioned to enter her school choir,
but she was rejected. The person in charge considered that she did not have
a good voice, since she did not reach the high notes, perhaps without taking
into consideration that the whore is a mesosoprano.
Perhaps, this gave him the impulse to prepare himself in the
matter, improve her voice and polish a rooster here, a detune there, and
Voilá! He became the music phenomenon we know today.
Her dad had a rock band and had very varied musical
tastes. This is how Dua Lipa grew up listening to Radiohead, Sting, David
Bowie or Bob Dylan.
Also, she was able to enjoy shows that Snoop Dog and 50 Cent
offered in Kosovo, once the family returned to their country of origin.
Thanks to the work of her father, the young woman with a beautiful voice had
access to shows, which had a great influence on her inclination towards
music.
But in her repertoire there was also room for fresh music. The
young she was positively impacted by artists like Pink, Nelly Furtado,
Alicia Keys and Christina Aguilera. In fact, at the age of 12 she covered No
One by Alicia Keys.
