Sylvester Stallone and Richard Gere fell out over Princess Diana
In the biographical book of Elton John, it is mentioned that Stallone and Richard Gere almost started beating each other for the love of Diana.
In Elton John's biographical book "Me: Elton John
Official Autobiography" that is about to hit bookstores, the singer recounts
that actors Sylvester Stallone and Richard Gere were about to start a fight
over Lady Di.
In one of the anecdotes included in his book, he recounts that
he hosted a dinner for then-Disney chief Jeffrey Katzenberg when they were
making "The Lion King," which Elton scored for.
One of the special guests was Princess Diana, who was separated
from Charles of Wales at the time.
At that meeting
organized by the singer and her husband David Furnish, stars Richard Gere,
Sylvester Stallone, George Michael, Richard Curtis and her wife Emma Freud
also attended.
Elton John mentions that Diana was completely blown away by how
handsome Richard Gere was, who had just split up with Cindy Crawford.
