This young Marvel actress refuses to have social networks for her mental health
Iman Vellani is the new face that Marvel Studios presents in its upcoming series Ms. Marvel and the young actress takes care of the spotlight that this can bring her
Marvel Studios continues to expand its success among the
audience with its Disney + productions and the one to come does not seem to
be an exception. This is Ms. Marvel, starring Iman Vellani, and it will be
coming to the Disney platform very soon.
Anticipating the focus of fame that this production will
bring her, the 19-year-old actress maintains that she does not like having
social networks yet, because she sees them as "an extra job."
Being her character, Kamala Khan, the first Muslim
superhero to debut in the MCU, it is unfortunately to be expected that
Vellani could be exposed to negative comments or microaggressions and harsh
criticism.
She doesn't think she's 'mentally mature' for social media yet
During an interview with Now Toronto, the young Canadian
actress explained the reason why she decided not to be part of the networks:
“Social networks can be a lot. It can be extra work. I really don't need one
of those right now. I just want to keep my distance from that. I don't think
she's mentally mature enough for that yet."
It is good for her that Marvel and Disney have accepted this
personal decision of Vellani, who already has several false profiles on
different platforms, made by fans of the series that has not yet been
released, which will also serve as a preamble to Vellani's participation. in
the sequel to Captain Marvel, The Marvels, where he will share the screen
with Brie Larson.
The Ms. Marvel cast includes Vellani in the title role,
alongside Aramis Knight, Saagar Shaikh, Rish Shah, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan
Kapur and Matt Lintz. The series will arrive at the Disney+ catalog this
Friday, June 8, and will consist of six episodes, one to be released every
Friday, as has been the dynamic of the franchise on the
platform.
