He stars in the film alongside Rebecca Ferguson, who plays his love interest Mae, and giving us a taste of what’s to come, the two stars were seen kissing on set while filming new scenes in Miami on Sunday.
Channelling a very Logan vibe, Hugh, 51, was dressed in a white vest and black jeans as he cuddled up to Rebecca on a day bed. The Australian actor was seen puckering up to his co-star in one scene, before wrapping his arms around her in another.
So far, all we know about Rebecca’s character is that she becomes locked into a passionate love affair with Nicolas Bannister, played by Hugh, but things take a turn when one of his client’s memories involve Mae and a series of violent crimes and he’s forced to find out the truth about the woman he loves. It’s not the first time Hugh and
Rebecca have worked together, as they actually starred alongside each other
in 2017 hit The Greatest Showman.
Fans will recognise Rebecca as
singer Jenny Lind who falls for Hugh’s P.T Barnum and kisses him, leaving
Barnum’s wife Charity (played by Michelle Williams) absolutely heartbroken.
Yeah, we’re still not over that one, either…
The movie was a
global hit and Hugh recently revealed that a sequel to The Greatest Showman
could possibly be on the cards.
Speaking to BBC Radio 2, he said: ‘The real answer is “could
be”, I’m not sure. I’m being completely honest with you, there is talk of
something going around but no one is really sure.
‘But I think
someone is working on a treatment for something… I know they are, they’re
working on a treatment for something.’
Hugh added that he wasn’t sure if Barnum would take
centre stage in a follow-up film, but he ‘would like to be a part of’ a
potential sequel.
Even if we could be waiting a while as the
first film took just a cool eight years to make…
