British actress Minnie Driver spilled the beans about her romantic
relationship with her colleague Matt Damon. It happened in 1998 for a short
period and the breakup meant something hard for her as she said recently.
For the star it was agonizing to stop being the actor's partner
while the two had so much attention from public opinion on them. Likewise,
the actress maintained that she met the interpreter on the set of "Good Will
Hunting", an Oscar-winning film where they happened to be a couple.
The
interpreter gave the revealing interview to Entertainment Tonight where, in
addition to referring to the subject, she mainly spoke about her memoir
"Managing Expectations: A Memoir in Essays."
Likewise, Minnie Driver described her romance with Matt Damon
as "sweet." However, she explained that everything had a quick end and that
was something that her family warned her about.
"My family loved Matt, but they could see that this young man was rising to
stardom very quickly and so could I. When you're young it's quite difficult
to keep a straight head and a well-founded sense of conduct, "said she who
lent her voice to the character of Jane in Disney's" Tarzan ".
Driver
told the publication that the hardest part was seeing the news of her
breakup everywhere like a repeated card. In fact, she couldn't walk into a
store or walk past a newsstand because she saw magazines with the headline
on their cover. She even referred to her once when she went into a store
with a friend and found the disappointment in love printed on the front
page.
"It's funny now... I was walking down the magazine aisle at my
grocery store at midnight once with my best friend and she was like, 'Oh my
God, I can't believe this is happening, I feel like I'm in a movie, I'm I'm
sure I'd see it, I know you're heartbroken, but this is so weird.
The
52-year-old actress said there was even a photographer chasing after her
when awards season started where the cast was supposed to promote the
film.
“There was this photographer guy from the Academy Awards,
he was always on top of me, they literally gave him that order. He was
waiting for the perfect moment for me to scream or burst or something,"
Driver said.
On the other hand, the star assured that it was her father who helped
her cope with the matter and that he stayed with her at all times while the
drama of the breakup went into the background.
