Most singers draw inspiration for song lyrics from personal experience.
And
if the same can be said for Taylor Momsen, she apparently wants us all to
know she's on the fast-track to eternal damnation.
Currently
wowing audiences as her band de ella, The Pretty Reckless, take their Going
To Hell Tour across the US and Canada, the star, who was raised Catholic,
has well and truly shed her good-girl image as she sings about sinning,
fornicating and drug use.
And she's certainly unapologetic about it - even going so
far as to sing the lyrics, 'Don't forgive me, father, for I have sinned.'
With
songs such as Cold Blooded, Hit Me Like A Man and F****ed, she is clearly
determined to distance herself once and for all from her child star roots,
establishing herself as a fully-fledged rocker.
And one thing's crystal clear: the girl sure can sing, with some seriously
strong vocals to back her up.
Taking to the stage on Tuesday night at the House Of Blues in Houston,
Texas, the 20-year-old was a far cry from her Ella Gossip Girl character
Jenny Humphrey.
'HOUSTON ... one of my ex's actually was from Texas ... tonight at the
HOuse of Blues #goingtohell,' she tweeted her 831,000 followers of her
before taking to the stage.
Her long blonde hair was worn down and looked rather disheveled by the end
of the set, sweat soaked and a string mess, while her eyes were heavily
rimmed in her signature black kohl style.
The 5ft 8in star donned shiny black spandex leggings tucked into knee-high
back boots and a loose black singlet top that featured the Going To Hell
logo - a cross with an arrow at the bottom - in silver safety pins for the
performance.
Ella's top was cut low at her sides, flashing her black lace bar top
underneath, while a large silver cross on a chain adorned her neck in
keeping with the theme.
Taylor was relatively covered up for the gig, having Instagrammed a photo
of herself on stage just last week clad in lacy black thigh-high stockings,
a tiny black skirt and a black top cut so incredibly low at the sides it
revealed her bare br*asts underneath , which we covered only by two strips
of black tape in an X shape.
The former actress gave her fans the show of a lifetime as she jumped and
gyrated about, lifting up her top and caressing her toned stomach.
She even did the old man down on two knees, leaning backwards with
the microphone stand between her legs in her pose in true rockstar
style.
At one point, she groped suggestively at her crotch with her right hand as
her left hand disappeared down under her clothing, easily taking Miley
Cyrus's controversial and raunchy on-stage antics to the next level.
As the lead singer and rhythm guitarist for the group, the blonde grabbed
her black ax which featured gold trim and skull and flaming star decals on
it for several songs.
While only a lyric video has been released for heavy metal track
Going To Hell so far - the first track off the group's upcoming second
studio album - if the scenes of a faceless priest, skulls and corpses in
that are anything to go by, the actual video, which is coming 'very soon'
according to the star, will be something to behold.
The Pretty Reckless have been touring since September 20 and will wrap on
November 11 in Boston, Massachusetts.
It is the band's third headlining tour, having previously been supporting
acts for the likes of goth rocker Marilyn Manson.
