Did Christina Aguilera Get Plastic Surgery?
According to experts, Aguilera has had some work done on her face.
"She's had another re-do rhinoplasty, but this was done very well," Dr. Lyle
Black told Hollywood Life in 2015. "Cartilage grafts were used to rebuild,
support and fill out her nose quite artistically. Her previous nasal surgery
was way overdone and her nose was nearly whittled away." Another surgeon,
per Fabbon, also said that the singer has had Botox, cheek fillers, lip
fillers, jaw contouring, and breast implants.
Triple Board Certified Plastic Surgeon Adam Schaffner — who has
not treated Aguilera — said that her "puffier" face was probably due to
lighting, makeup, or fillers. "Christina may have the appearance of fuller
cheeks due to increased volume from fillers such as Voluma or Restylane
Lyft," the surgeon told Radar. Dr Norman Rowe also said the same thing. "I
believe that Christina's puffiness can be attributed to overfilled facial
fillers, like Bellafill or Voluma," he explained. "She probably tried to
fill out any wrinkles and give her face some youthful fullness.
Unfortunately, she was overfilled with fillers in the cheek area, and they
weren't placed in the optimal area. Her fillers should have been injected
more on the cheek bone."
Still, the singer has always dodged the speculations.
"I'm a performer, that's who I am by nature. But I'm at the place, even
musically, where it's a liberating feeling to be able to strip it all back
and appreciate who you are and your raw beauty," the Beautiful hitmaker told
Paper before going makeup-free for a photoshoot. "I mean, I'm a girl that
likes a beat face, let's not get it twisted."
What Fans Think About Christina Aguilera's Changing Face
In 2017, fans noticed that Aguilera had plumper lips during her
tribute performance to Whitney Houston at that year's AMAs. "Christina is
the last person on the planet who needs plastic surgery. I wish she'd calm
down with all the fillers and injections," a fan tweeted back then. Another
fan defended the singer, saying haters should be mindful of Aguilera's
children. "And don't think @xtina is weak, nothing will be cancelled," they
tweeted. "You just need to be respectful, in a few years her kids might read
your stupid tweets, you want to make them feel sad? No? Then be respectful!
Don't be so dramatic about some lip fillers, they're temporary. "
The fan had a point. After all, the performer herself said that
she's a "mom first," which is also why she took a break from touring the
past years. "Touring is so frightening to me, because I am a mom first," she
told Billboard. "It's part of why I stayed in the position I was [at The
Voice]. It's easy to get comfortable and cushy in the same place and not
have to worry about uprooting your kids. I've been putting myself on the
back burner. I'm looking forward to getting back out and actually showing my
kids what Mommy really does!"
What Has Christina Aguilera Been Up To These Days?
In 2021, Aguilera surprised fans with her Spanish language track, Pa
'Mis Niñas. It serves as an "homage to women," the singer told Billboard.
"We wanted to make sure that this was definitely a representation of Latin
women who are the strength of a family, the backbone," she shared. "In the
song we mention that I'm a woman that is strong because I was raised by a
woman that was strong and so was she before that. It's something that gets
passed down by generations. I chose Nathy, Becky and Nicki because of the
strength they exude."
"It's been a project that I wanted to follow up for so
long but I'm so happy that it's happening now as a grown woman," she added.
"Having been a mother, having experienced the career I have, I bring a
different view and set of passions. Now it's coming from a deeper
perspective and wanting to explore. … I'm still learning too and I'm not
going to back down from something I'm truly passionate about because I'm
scared or I'm afraid of what people will think. This is me being me on my
own journey of life. I could cry about it. It means a lot to me."
