Nicole Kidman plans to press charges after a paparazzo knocked her to the
ground in New York.
Photos from the scene show Nicole
hitting the pavement after a photographer on a bicycle slammed into her as
she entered her hotel in Manhattan.
A New York Police Department
spokesman said the actress was returning to Manhattan’s Carlyle Hotel
when she was hit by a photographer riding his bicycle on the
sidewalk.
“She has minor injuries. Nothing too serious. She
refused medical attention at the scene,” the spokesman said.
Photos obtained by the website show Nicole reaching toward the
pavement for balance and later holding onto a female companion with one shoe
off as the bicyclist laid on the ground.
According to the outlet, the actress plans to press charges.
“Witnesses tell TMZ as Wu got dangerously close to Nicole, he appeared to hit his brakes, but it didn't do the trick. He slammed into her and she went crashing to the ground,” the website claims.
Police declined to confirm Wu’s identity as there is no criminality in the case. They are said to issue him with a ticket for cycling on the pavement, but one policeman is reported to have said: "An accident's an accident."
A spokesperson for Nicole has yet to publicly comment on the
incident.
The 46-year-old seemed to be having a good time in the
Big Apple prior to the run-in, having attended Calvin Klein’s show for New
York Fashion Week earlier in the day.
She was snapped sitting
front row at the show alongside Vogue editor Anna Wintour. The
Australian actress who is married to American Idol judge Keith Urban sported
a new sleek bob haircut.
