Their individual careers have suffered ever since Amber Heard became embroiled in court disputes with her ex-husband Johnny Depp. Amber Heard is still a member of the Warner Bros. Aquaman franchise even though Johnny Depp was fired from Disney’s Fantastic Beasts franchise. It was already confirmed that Amber Heard had shot her scenes for Aquaman 2, however, due to the movie getting pushed back, fans have theorized that the reasoning behind such creating a delay for the film could be due to the studio recasting the actress and reshooting the scenes that were meant to have Amber Heard as Mera in them. The most rumored actress who could potentially be the replacement is Emilia Clarke.
Amber Heard’s screentime reduced
Things have changed for Amber Heard since Johnny Depp won the
defamation lawsuit against his ex-wife. Her role was reportedly diminished
in the second installment after a petition to have her fired from the
renowned franchise circulated on social media. There are currently more than
2 million signatures on the petition. The timing of Amber Heard’s screen
time in the Aquaman 2 movie is the subject of a recent internet rumor.
According to reports, Amber Heard will appear on screen for no more than 10
minutes in the upcoming DC sequel.
Aquaman 2 date has been pushed back
The calendar for DC’s film releases is undergoing yet another
change. Shazam! Fury of the Gods and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, two
upcoming live-action blockbusters, will both be delaying their release
dates, a new report on Wednesday stated. The Shazam! sequel will now
premiere on March 17, 2023, as opposed to its initial release date of
December 21, 2022. The release of the Aquaman sequel, which was initially
planned for that March date, has been postponed until December 25,
2023.
Rumor of Emilia Clarke replacing Amber Heard
According to a recent discovery by YouTuber Syl Abdul Inc, Mera
is reportedly in scenes that are being reshot for Aquaman and The Lost
Kingdom, but there is a catch. It’s unknown who will play her, and it may
not be Amber Heard. The person that initially informed Abdul that Ben
Affleck was on site and will be in Aquaman 2 as Batman also added that there
was someone else there dressed as Mera, though they were unable to identify
them.
It has been addressed that one of the main concerns in the
making of Aquaman 2 would be the chemistry that Jason Momoa and Amber Heard
would have to portray, considering that they are polar opposites when it
comes to liking each other in real life, the fabrication of the chemistry
may prove to be quite a challenge. Unless the studio has decided to recast
the actress with someone who not only has chemistry with the actor but has
also been a highly requested replacement ever since the defamation trial had
started. Who else could this actress be if not Emilia Clarke?
