Dua Lipa is reportedly being sued for $150,000 by a picture agency after
sharing an image they had taken of her on Instagram.
Integral
Images have reportedly filed an $150,000 eight-page law suit against the
Levitating hitmaker, 25, for sharing one of their images.
The
contentious snap, taken in February 2019, showed Dua getting on a plane in
an oversized hat.
'I'll be living under big fluffy hats until
further notice,' the star captioned the post, which has since been removed.
The BBC has reported that Integral Images are claiming Dua
profited from the photo as her account acts as a marketing tool for her
music.
The law suit is reportedly seeking $150k [£108k] in damages and
has requested a jury trial.
In the eight-page document, Integral
Images claimed Dua had shared their material 'without permission or
authorisation'.
On top of the $150k, the company are
also requesting legal costs and an official order that would stop Dua from
any subsequent acts of infringement.
According to reports, the
complaint reads: 'The account is monetised in that it contains content
designed to accumulate followers who are directed to, via link and/or
advertisement, consume and purchase Defendant's content, Defendant profits
from these activities.'
Dua is yet to comment on the reports publicly.
It comes after it was announced this week that Dua is set to
add another string to her bow by launching her acting career in Matthew
Vaughn's new spy thriller Argylle.
Argylle is allegedly the
first film in a new franchise and is based on Ellie Conway's upcoming novel
of the same name.
The plot follows the world's number one spy
and his international adventures in America, London and other global
destinations.
As well as acting in the film, Dua Lipa will also provide the
score for the blockbuster, which is set to start filming in Europe in
August, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
