She has long-insisted that she adores being compared to her fiery-haired
lookalike Amy Adams.
Now, Australian actress Isla Fisher has
taken things to the next level by cheekily superimposing Amy's face over
hers while creating her family Christmas card with husband Sacha Baron
Cohen.
Speaking to America's Today, the Down Under actress said: 'I
cut-and-pasted Amy Adams' face over mine,'
'So it was Sacha, Amy,
and the kids, and then we said 'Seasons greetings from Sacha and Isla.'
It appears the joke worked better than expected, however, with
Isla revealing: 'No one noticed! 'Oh, your card was so cute!' I was like,
'It was a joke, it's not me, it's Amy!'
She striking similarity between the two actresses has been
making headlines as they promote their new film Nocturnal Animals.
Speaking to ET about being endlessly compared to the Enchanted
actress, Isla said: ' I find it a huge compliment because I think Amy's
gorgeous.'
'I'm a big fan of Amy. I think she's an extraordinary
performer, particularly her performance in this is just really
brilliant.'
Amy was equally thrilled about the comparisons,
adding: 'Sometimes I've been like, 'Oh yeah! I can totally see
it.
'But she's small and cute, and I'm sort of not as small or as
cute,' she quipped.
In Nocturnal Animals, Amy plays stars
an art gallery owner who is haunted after her ex-husband, played by Jake
Gyllenhaal, writes a violent novel she interprets as a veiled threat against
her.
Isla plays the role of a murder victim, Laura Hastings,
whose sordid tale is hashed out in the mysterious novel, Nocturnal Animals.
Director Tom Ford, insisted the resemblance between the two
women is key to the film's narrative.
He said: 'It's very important to the story that these
characters resemble each other.
'I was absolutely struck by the
similarities of their appearance, but also by their ability to act.'
But Amy and Isla aren't the only two celebrities many have
trouble telling apart, the likes of Kim Kardashian and Nicole Scherzinger,
Daniel Radcliffe and Elijiah Wood and Lara Stone and Georgia May Jagger
could be mistaken for twins.
