The Hollywood actress is well known for her traditionally long, dark locks
- but she will be sure to draw attention after chopping her length short and
dying her hair blonde
Dakota Johnson may be well known for her
no-nonsense dark brown hair but she has been given a whole new look that’s
left her almost unrecognisable.
The 33-year-old Hollywood star has ditched her trademark dark locks
for a bottle blonde style - which is also far shorter than fans would be
used to.
Dakota - who found fame as Anastasia Steele in the Fifty
Shades of Grey film trilogy - has made the change for a new role in a film
titled Daddio.
The film will see Dakota perform opposite Sean
Penn as a woman who takes a ride in a taxi and discusses her most important
relationships with the driver.
Paparazzi shots of Dakota sporting
her new locks emerged over the weekend - with fans fawning over her new
look.
One Instagram user remarked: “I absolutely love it
stunning!!”
While others remarked that the new look made Dakota
look more like her mother, 65-year-old Hollywood star Melanie Griffith.
One
impressed fan commented: “She looks so much like Melanie here” along with a
red heart emoji.
Fans perhaps shouldn’t get used to Dakota
sporting blonde locks, however, as she has previously explained she dyes her
hair once she wraps filming projects.
She said back in 2017 at
the LA premiere of Fifty Shades Darker: “I dyed my hair immediately.
“It’s
something that I do, it’s very bizarre. Any time something weird happens in
my life I will dye my hair. It’s like such a teenage thing to do.”
While
she explained she finds it ‘weird’ to complete filming a project.
Dakota
has turned heads on many a red carpet with her traditionally long and dark
brown locks - which have attracted fans around the world.
The
star’s hairstylist, Mark Townsend, has previously explained how he tries to
perfect Dakota’s hair by making it look sleek yet purposely messy.
He told Vogue: “Dakota always loves to have very clean hair, so
my challenge is always to make it look not-so-clean. I want it to look like
it’s the second day post-wash.”
He explained further: “I always
want it to look like she woke up, ran a brush through her hair and walked
out the door, but it does take a little bit of work, especially now her hair
is so long.
“We recently worked together for the Sundance Film
Festival, which was all virtual this year. We kept her hair very natural – I
just gave her a really pretty blowout each day, using a large round brush,
then set it in a bun while she finished make-up. It creates natural bends in
the hair.”
