The supermodel talks us through her skincare and makeup essentials along
with advice she learned from her sister and beauty entrepreneur Kylie
Of all the Kardashian-Jenner sisters, Kendall Jenner is perhaps
the one with the most effortless day-to-day beauty look — one we could all
aspire to emulate, without too much of a stretch of the imagination.
Her latest Vogue China cover marks the 14th time
she’s covered Vogue, and the second time she’s been on the cover
of Vogue China. The first was back in 2015, in an iconic shoot by
Mario Testino, and since then she’s also made her way onto the front covers
of US Vogue and Vogue Paris, among others. The
26-year-old star has now been modelling for more than 10 years. And, while
she’s picked up some pro beauty tips from makeup artists along the way, it’s
her sister Kylie Jenner who shares the best advice.
“I’m always learning, I’m luckily surrounded by lots of people
who know what they’re talking about,” she tells Vogue. “Kylie has given
me really good tips in the past… When she recommends a new product, I always
like to try it and see if I vibe with it.”
Before any makeup is applied, Jenner likes to prep the skin with
daily defence mist, moisturiser, SPF and a liberal spritz of rose water. In
short, her mantra when it comes to hydration is: if in doubt, mist, mist and
mist again. “I don’t know if there’s such a thing as overusing sprays?” she
asks. “This is a tip that Kylie just showed me — a dewy skin mist. So, if
you’re a little bit ‘matter’ than maybe you would want to be, or you want
your makeup to feel a little bit more natural, you spray this on and it…
dews you right up.”
Once fully misted, she applies Giorgio Armani Face Fabric, which
she’s been using for years thanks to another sisterhood recommendation —
“this stuff is my ultimate go-to.” Followed by the cult classic, Nars
Radiant Creamy Concealer — ”I really enjoy applying it, I don’t know
why.”
This is Jenner’s “running out of the house glowy look”, so
it’s all about ease of application. “I think the key in looking sun-kissed
is a little bit of ‘I may have gotten sunburnt’,” she smiles, adding that
sun-protection is, of course, essential. To create the aforementioned
sun-kissed effect, it’s all about bronzer. “I absolutely love bronzer,” she
continues, sharing that she still uses the Kylie Cosmetics bronzer, from her
first collection with her sister. “I love it and I’m obsessed. And this is a
sun-kissed look so, we’re here to glow.”
In April 2022, the sisters launched their second
limited-edition collection together, Kendall x Kylie 2.0. “I love these big
lip crayons that Kylie and I did for Kylie Cosmetics,” Jenner says. “They
are just really, really easy to apply.”
