He started by pondering how different things might have been for Thomas Markle
and Prince Harry if certain decisions had been made differently.
Being far from home, having the supportive presence of his father-in-law, Thomas Markle, might have provided Harry with the stability he seems to have lacked since separating from his own family.
In the context of a mixed-race marriage, Mr. Markle could have offered
valuable guidance to Prince Harry, helping him navigate the realities of such
a union. Unfortunately, such wisdom hasn't been available, and instead, their
relationship has been tainted by mistrust.
Mr. Markle's own harsh and unyielding views about his daughter and her
husband, calling Harry 'snotty' and an 'idiot' who is 'whipped' by Meghan,
didn't help endear him to his son-in-law.
However, Richard Eden emphasized that Harry's own behavior cannot be excused, as the root of their unhappiness can be traced back to the weeks leading up to Harry and Meghan's royal wedding in 2018.
