During a red carpet event, Dakota Johnson found herself in an uncomfortable situation when director Luca Guadagnino seemingly intervened to prevent her from facing an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction.
The incident, caught on camera, appeared as though the director touched the actress' breast while attempting to conceal the top part of her dress.
At the photocall for Suspiria during the Venice Film Festival, onlookers recounted to The Sun that it seemed Guadagnino was shielding Johnson from the cameras due to a wardrobe mishap, rather than intentionally touching her chest as suggested by the camera angle.
It is possible that the camera angle made his hand appear closer to her body than it actually was.
Following the incident, Johnson was seen giggling and leaning on Guadagnino's shoulder, seemingly expressing gratitude for his intervention.
Suspiria, the film that was premiered at the festival, reportedly received mixed reviews from critics.
In a previous interview with Entertainment Weekly, Johnson candidly shared her need for therapy after working on the project—a dark horror/thriller centered around the mysterious vanishing of dancers from an exclusive academy.
"I find sometimes when I work on a project—and I don't have any shame in this—I'm a very empathetic person and I absorb a lot of people's emotions," she explained. "When you're working on dark subject matter, it can linger, and then to have a conversation with someone kind afterward is a wonderful way to move forward from the project. My therapist is an incredibly kind person."
Scheduled for release in November, the film follows Johnson's character, Susie, as she enrolls in a dance academy in Berlin. As she gradually discovers the unsettling and horrific disappearances of her fellow dancers, she becomes entangled in a web of modern witchcraft. Suspiria also features Chloe Moretz, Tilda Swinton, and Jessica Harper.
