Once a renowned and controversial actor, Johnny Depp now prefers a quieter life, far from the bustling streets of Hollywood. Instead, he spends ample time in the serene UK, residing in his picturesque country house situated in Somerset.
Recently, the spotlight-shy star, who maintained a low profile after the much-discussed defamation lawsuit with his ex, Amber Heard, granted an interview to Somerset Life.
He candidly expressed, "I've developed an affection for places with distinct character. The British people are warm and welcoming without going overboard. I find pleasure in exploring new places, witnessing life's wonders, and interacting with others, but I'm not the extroverted persona that many perceive me to be."
Johnny further revealed, "In truth, I'm quite a reserved person. This is where Britain, especially Somerset, comes to the rescue. Here, I can simply be myself, and that's truly comforting. I can visit stores without being swarmed by people eager for selfies. I don't mind it occasionally, but at times, it can get overwhelming."
Meanwhile, Johnny's two children split their time between the United States and France. Lily-Rose Depp, 27, and Jack, 20, are his beloved offspring from his previous marriage to Vanessa Paradis.
While Lily-Rose thrives as a model and actress in her own right, Jack prefers to maintain a lower profile.
Johnny and Vanessa were both resolute in keeping their children away from the harsh glare of the limelight during their formative years.
