King Charles finds himself under increasing scrutiny for what some are
calling a "grave error" in permitting Archie and Lilibet, the children of Prince
Harry and Meghan Markle, to retain their royal titles.
Renowned royal author Tom Bower expressed his displeasure in an interview with
the Daily Express, particularly regarding the use of the titles "Prince" and
"Princess" for Archie, aged 4, and Lilibet, aged 2.
Bower asserted, "King Charles must shoulder a significant portion of the
responsibility for this situation. Harry and Meghan's actions have, in many
eyes, eroded the foundations of the monarchy, and Charles has made a grave
misjudgment."
Bower lamented that King Charles should have severed these titles immediately,
stating that such an honor should never have been extended to their children.
Furthermore, the author contended that Charles should not have included the Duke of Sussex in his coronation earlier this year.
The decision by the Sussexes to bestow royal titles upon their children was met with significant criticism at the time. This controversy stemmed from Harry and Meghan's earlier decision to step down from their royal roles in 2020, followed by their public criticisms of the royal family in subsequent years.
