Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, the daughters of Prince Andrew,
have endured considerable emotional turmoil in the wake of their father's
reported involvement in a scandal.
The disgraced royal, Prince Andrew, had his military titles and royal patronages revoked by the late Queen Elizabeth after his connections to Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted sex offender, were exposed, along with allegations of sexual assault against him.
Lady Victoria Hervey, who briefly dated the Duke of York in 1999, reflected on
the impact this situation has had on Andrew's daughters.
"I can only imagine the pain and distress it must have caused since they are a very close family," Hervey shared with GB News.
Although Princess Beatrice, aged 35, and Princess Eugenie, aged 33, have not
openly discussed the allegations against their father, a family friend
revealed to the Telegraph that "it's been very difficult for them."
The friend added, "I don't think anyone has ever properly appreciated how hard
it is for any child to have that level of scrutiny and exposure. But they have
their own children now, so the family unit is more dispersed than it was."
Hervey has sided with Prince Andrew amid the allegations made by Virginia Giuffre. In February 2022, Giuffre and the Prince reached an out-of-court settlement for an undisclosed amount, with no admission of guilt regarding the claims against the Duke of York.
