"I first got to know her when she was in Philadelphia; her father was a devoted NFL enthusiast," Reid shared during a recent episode of Donovan McNabb's OutKick. "So, I met her when she was quite young, along with her father."
"I made a jest about playing matchmaker for Kelce, and, you know, I'm just saying!" Reid recounted on Tuesday, October 17, with a chuckle.
"She's a wonderful young woman, and she's really into it," he added. "We're delighted to have her around."
Reid isn't the sole NFL luminary with a connection to this burgeoning couple. Long before Kelce and Swift became an item, sports commentator Erin Andrews had taken to her podcast, "Calm Down," which she co-hosts with Charissa Thompson, to publicly implore the "Karma" musician to "consider giving our friend Travis a chance."
"Take us up on this—embark on a date with this fine gentleman," she implored in an August episode, which was released not long after Kelce had candidly admitted to attempting, albeit unsuccessfully, to pass his phone number to Swift during an Eras Tour concert.
Upon reports suggesting that he and the 12-time Grammy laureate might be dating, Kelce himself responded beneath one of Andrews and Thompson's posts, saying, "😂😂 You two are quite the duo!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻 I owe you big time!"
Andrews recently shared her role in uniting this pair on TODAY, humorously referring to herself as "the new Bumble." "He has a certain glow about him," she exclaimed as she reacted to snapshots of Kelce and Swift holding hands. "That's a remarkable transformation, ladies. He looks absolutely fantastic."
