Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's visit to New York City to host the
Archewell Foundation Parents Summit as part of the Project Healthy Minds World
Mental Health Day Festival has stirred up some controversy.
According to an attendee's account shared on YouTube, many of the people
surrounding the Sussexes, including the US Surgeon General, had been present
at previous events with Harry and Meghan. Rumors circulated that Meghan's
choice of attire was considered inappropriate for the occasion.
It became apparent that Meghan was dressed for a planned photoshoot
specifically for her, which confused some attendees who expected a typical
photo opportunity. Meghan directed the photographer to take her picture, with
her large veneers gleaming, and some claim her mask slipped afterward. She
allegedly informed the Surgeon General that the photographer was her personal
photographer, not present for the event's guests or its purpose.
During the event, there were instances where Meghan tried to insert herself
into ongoing conversations, and when her efforts weren't acknowledged, she
raised her voice to draw attention. A representative from Archewell or WME
intervened at one point and redirected Meghan toward another group for
conversation.
Meghan's choice of attire, which appeared to be evening wear, stood in
contrast to the formal business attire of other attendees, creating a
noticeable mismatch. This sartorial choice was seen as inappropriate and a
reflection of Meghan's tendency to prioritize appearing glamorous or wealthy
over dressing with class.
The event primarily consisted of mental health experts, and some attendees
felt that Meghan lacked expertise in this area. Her attire and disruptive
behavior were noted, and it was suggested that she failed to understand the
importance of maintaining a respectful and professional image in this context.
Overall, it was reported that event attendees held negative feelings toward
Harry and Meghan, which may have contributed to their absence from the gala
dinner held after the event, which aimed to raise funds for a specific
charity.
Additionally, it was noted that Harry and Meghan did not receive an escort for
their security, and there were no crowds present, which suggests they tend to
leave events prematurely when they don't receive the recognition they expect.
New York City did not provide them with escorted security for this occasion.
