On a leisurely shopping jaunt in the heart of London this past Wednesday, the Mexican actress found herself stumbling as she made her exit from a boutique.

The petite 5ft 1in star, aged 48, had decided to give herself a vertical boost with a pair of sky-high platform boots.

Fortunately, she skillfully averted a rendezvous with the unforgiving pavement, swiftly regaining her poise.

Amused by the episode, a group of nearby construction workers offered a hearty cheer for Salma's quick reflexes.

Salma Hayek presently resides in London with her billionaire fashion tycoon husband, François-Henri Pinault, their daughter Valentina, and his two children from a prior marriage.

Meanwhile, in a recent interview with Marie Claire magazine, Salma candidly confessed that it took her quite some time to embrace her voluptuous figure.

She shared, "During my childhood, I was the target of teasing due to my short stature, slender frame, and sun-kissed complexion. Later, when my curves emerged, I felt self-conscious."

"Yet, during a summer sojourn to Europe, I discovered the allure of my unique features. Although I still didn't view myself as conventionally beautiful, my college years brought me validation from guys who appreciated my personality, which significantly boosted my self-assurance."

However, upon her move to Hollywood, Salma often found herself typecast in roles defined by a 'sexy Latina' stereotype, which partly motivated her portrayal of the artist Frida Kahlo in the 2002 film.

She added, "I was thrilled to portray Frida Kahlo, an artist who defied conventional beauty standards. She sported a unibrow and a faint mustache, but her courage to embrace her distinctiveness left an indelible mark. I believe that when you exude confidence, a unique kind of beauty inevitably shines through."
