Meghan Markle's Pre-Wedding Comments About the UK Exposed

Before her marriage to Prince Harry in 2018, former American actress Meghan Markle had already developed a fondness for the United Kingdom.

The Duchess of Sussex, who once stated that she didn't have much knowledge about the royal family, did have a deep appreciation for her future husband's home country.

In an unearthed post from her lifestyle blog, The Tig, dating back to 2014, Meghan shared the recipe for her favorite cocktail, the Tig Cup, and hinted at her affinity for Great Britain as she discussed her beverage of choice.

Meghan began by saying, "While I generally prefer to wet my whistle with a glass of rosé or a crisp Sauvignon Blanc, there are times when the day calls for a cocktail. Enter The TIG Cup."

She went on to say, "Being a lover of all things British, I wanted to put a twist on their signature Pimm’s Cup. This is sure to please a crowd and is a tribute to the freshly picked flavors of the season. Cheers!"

The revelation of this post on Instagram sparked enthusiastic reactions from fans. One commented, "How meant to be were/are they... I am dying here, the signs were always there!!" while another remarked, "It was the first thing I noticed, 'all things Brit'."

Indeed, even before moving to the UK to be with Prince Harry, Meghan had a love for London. She mentioned spending a lot of time at Soho House in the capital, a detail shared by Prince Harry in his book "Spare," where he wrote about their first date at the members' club. He noted, "She suggested [we meet at] Soho House at 76 Dean Street. It was her headquarters whenever she came to London."

Harry also revealed just how much the Duchess of Sussex cherished the secret retreat, saying, "Sometimes she just left her luggage at Soho House for weeks. They stored it without question. The people there were like family."
