Meghan Markle's reported preference for retaining her royal title over
pursuing a seat in the US Senate has garnered attention. According to royal
biographer Angela Levin, Meghan would have to relinquish her titles if she were
to enter politics, and this might be a deterrent for her.
Levin expressed her opinion that Meghan might not make a successful politician due to her thin skin and the requirement to give up her UK titles. Levin emphasized that Meghan seems to be holding onto her titles tightly, making it unlikely for her to pursue a career in parliament.
Meghan's potential appointment to the vacant US Senate seat in California, following the passing of Senator Dianne Feinstein, generated speculation and discussion. However, California Governor Gavin Newsom ultimately appointed Laphonza Butler to the position.
Levin also commented on the situation on social media, suggesting that Meghan's attachment to her UK titles may have played a role in her not pursuing the Senate seat.
