During Princess Eugenie's wedding five years ago, Prince Harry and Meghan
Markle had significant news to share with the Royal Family, and the response
from Prince William was nothing short of jubilant.
On October 12, 2018, Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank exchanged vows at
St. George's Chapel in Windsor, a location that held special significance as
it was the same venue where Harry and Meghan celebrated their own wedding just
months prior.
At the time, Meghan was in the early stages of her pregnancy with the couple's
first child, and Harry chose the cocktail reception at St. George's Hall as
the moment to inform his brother, Prince William, that he would soon become an
uncle.
Prince Harry fondly recollected in his memoir, "We whispered the news, and
Willy smiled and said 'we must tell Kate.' She was across the room talking to
Pippa. I suggested we could do it later, but he insisted."
Continuing, Harry remarked, "So we went and told Kate, and she also greeted us
with a warm smile and heartfelt congratulations. They both reacted exactly as
I had hoped - as I had wished."
Prince Archie, Harry and Meghan's first child, was born on May 6, 2019, and Princess Lilibet, his younger sister, joined the family on June 4, 2021. The moment at Princess Eugenie's wedding marked the beginning of this joyous journey for the royal family.
