The dynamics within the royal family have come into question following Harry's phone call to his father, King Charles, fueling speculation about whether the Duke and Duchess of Sussex would receive an invitation to join their royal relatives for Christmas.
TV presenter and journalist Jennie Bond expressed her doubts, stating, "I can't see how Charles could invite Harry and Meghan without causing major disruption and upsetting William and Kate, who would presumably refuse to attend."
Offering insights into the Christmas plans of the royal family, Bond added, "Feelings are much too raw between the brothers. I think William has closed his mind to thoughts of reconciliation any time soon and has simply moved on with his life."
The strained relationship between Harry and William, exacerbated by the Sussexes' move to the US in 2020, has left uncertainties about a potential Christmas reunion.
Bond, while acknowledging the difficulties, provided a glimmer of hope for those wishing for reconciliation: "Perhaps the New Year is possible if the rumors are correct."
She reiterated her stance, emphasizing, "I ca n't see how Charles could invite Harry and Meghan without causing major disruption and upsetting William and Kate, who would presumably refuse to attend. So I do n't think they will be invited for Christmas."
Acknowledging the complexities, Bond suggested that while a reunion between the royal brothers might be on the horizon, William is currently focused on his role as Prince of Wales, enjoying popularity and a content home life.
She concluded optimistically, "A new year, a new leaf, and I am certain that, in spite of all that has been so painfully said and done, the King loves his younger son very much and would like nothing better than to mend bridges with him and get to know his two grandchildren."
Bond wrapped up with hope, stating, "small steps and in the right direction, but personally, I think it's still a bit early to expect Harry and Meghan to be flying over. Maybe in the coming year though."
