In a solemn gathering at White Hall, a procession of veterans and armed
forces personnel stood in honor as attendees observed a two-minute silence
during the National Service of Remembrance.
This annual event commemorated two significant historical battles: the eightieth anniversary of The Battle of the Atlantic and the seventieth anniversary of the Korean War.
While Queen Camilla, Princess Kate, and Sophie, along with other members of
the extended royal family, watched the Remembrance Service from the Foreign
Office, Prince Edward, the Duke of Kent, was notably absent due to health
issues during both today's and yesterday's procession.
The Prince and Princess of Wales arrived at the Royal Albert Hall on Saturday,
November 11, following the unveiling of the statues of the late Queen
Elizabeth II and Prince Philip by the King and Queen.
The proceedings commenced with the Princess Royal leading the Armed Forces Memorial at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire.
The Festival of Remembrance followed shortly after, featuring performances from popstar Chelsea Pensioner Colin Thackery, Calum Scott, Alfie Boe, and Katie Melua.
