With the Duke and Duchess of Sussex reportedly not receiving an invitation to the Royal Family's Christmas festivities in the UK, Meghan Markle is now looking forward to celebrating the holiday season with her Hollywood friends.
In the wake of a Family Guy episode poking fun at the couple, the former Suits actress is determined to restore their reputation in the US. Meghan has received invitations from her friends in Montecito to join their Christmas celebrations, and she is eagerly opting for this festive plan rather than spending the day with Prince Harry's closest friend.
A source shared, "Harry has been invited, along with Meghan and their children, Archie and Lilibet, to join Charlie van Straubenzee's family during the festive season. They have homes in London and Lincolnshire. Charlie is Harry's best friend and also Archie's godfather, and the pair have recently grown closer again following a distant few years when Harry first moved to America."
Despite the Sussexes having multiple invitations from friends in the US for the holidays, the insider noted, "It's not like they don't have anywhere to go." David Foster and his wife Katharine McPhee have also extended an invitation for their extended Christmas weekend.
However, a stalemate seems to exist over the final decision on where Meghan and Harry should spend their Christmas, with various options on the table. The couple is reportedly upset over the fallout from their appearance on Family Guy.
