Scobie, set to release his book "Endgame: Inside the Royal Family and the Monarchy’s Fight for Survival," shared that the Duchess of Sussex reached out to him in 2018 after he faced online bullying.
Meghan, informed by a member of her team about the threats Scobie was dealing with, unexpectedly called him on his mobile phone to inquire about his well-being.
Taking to Twitter (X), Scobie clarified the purpose of his book and dismissed notions of being Meghan's confidant. "Let’s get this nonsense out the way - #ENDGAME is about the current state of the British Royal Family.
It’s not ‘Harry and Meghan’s book,’ I’m not ‘Meg’s pal,’ the Sussexes have nothing to do with it, their story is a small part of a much bigger one you can read in 12 days," he wrote.
