Prince William has received a warning to be cautious about invoking King Charles' well-documented jealousy, especially in the aftermath of his recent speech.
The Prince of Wales delivered a notable speech during his visit to Singapore for the Earthshot Prize last week. In his address, the future King expressed his commitment to stepping further away from the Royal Family to bring about tangible changes worldwide.
According to the Daily Beast, a friend of King Charles and Queen Camilla advised Prince William to "be careful not to wake the green-eyed monster." The friend explained, "William is entitled to make these comments, which, frankly, are pretty unremarkable, but part of the reason the marriage with Camilla has worked so well is that she understands that Charles is the star. William has to be careful not to wake the green-eyed monster."
Royal expert Clive Irving had previously mentioned to the Daily Express that Charles is "jealous" of the Prince and Princess of Wales for "stealing his limelight." The Last Queen author noted, "They worked out a kind of accommodation of how much limelight each is going to be allowed because Charles is always very jealous of other people stealing his limelight."
