Kate is purportedly portrayed in an unsettling narrative of 'infantilisation' orchestrated by the Royal Family, who, it is claimed, exaggerate her accomplishments.
Royal biographer Omid Scobie, ahead of the launch of his book, Endgame, candidly shared his apprehensions regarding the treatment of the Princess of Wales in an interview with The Sunday Times.
Speaking about Kate's modest achievements, Scobie remarked, "The minor feats we witness from [Kate] might pass unnoticed if attributed to another Royal Family member, but with Kate, it's met with an exaggerated sense of amazement."
He further articulated, "There's a pervasive tendency to massively infantilize her, deliberately keeping the standards lower."
Leaked excerpts from the upcoming book, serialized by a French magazine, depict the Princess as a figure paralyzed by fear, confined to a sphere limited to staged, smiling photo opportunities.
The royal author alleges, "In stark contrast to the strong-willed Diana, who, grappling with a harsh and demanding marriage, demonstrated an unwillingness to fully surrender to the royal cause, Kate is portrayed as a considerably more adaptable and compliant future Queen. "
In a pointed accusation, Scobie brands the future Queen as "hypocritical" for championing mental health causes while allegedly turning a blind eye to Meghan Markle's "pleas for helping" her during her tenure in the Royal Family.
"For the princess, there's no retracing steps, even in her relationship with Harry," he concludes, painting a picture of an irreversible trajectory.
