The Royal Family is going to great lengths to replicate the iconic fashion statements made by the late Princess Diana through her distinctive sartorial choices.
Since her passing, many have endeavored to capture the captivating charisma that Diana effortlessly exuded. On numerous occasions, Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle appear to be drawing inspiration from their late mother-in-law.
While this may seem like a heartfelt tribute, there's intricate planning involved in recreating those styles, often directed by The Firm, as revealed by royal author Omid Scobie in his recent book, "Endgame: Inside the Royal Family and the Monarchy's Fight for Survival."
Scobie notes, "Finding a trend untouched by Diana's iconic style is nearly impossible. However, the substantial effort invested in emulating her exact look sometimes pushes the boundaries." Over the past thirteen years, Diana cosplay has become a customary practice within the royal circle.
According to Scobie, the "decisions" regarding the attire of Kate and Meghan were consistently "discussed" with Prince William and Prince Harry. Additionally, there were "gentle pushes" from external influences, aside from the princes. It was not uncommon for someone to revisit images of Diana at specific times or places for inspiration.
Scobie reflects, "In the right moment, this emulation can be a touching tribute. However, there's a slightly uneasy feeling when one realizes it's often orchestrated within the same system that contributed to her suffering—an institution that still seeks to bask in the residual glow of Diana."
