According to royal author Omid Scobie, Prince William harbored an early "dislike" for Meghan Markle.
In his recently published and startling novel, "Endgame," released on Tuesday, Omid delved into the strained relationship between the Duchess of Sussex and her brother-in-law, highlighting their tumultuous beginning. Omid, often considered Meghan's unofficial spokesperson, also revealed the authentic reason behind the Duchess's reluctance to return to the UK.
"William had been eager to distance himself from his brother ever since Harry's union with Meghan—whom the then Duke of Cambridge disapproved of from the outset," Omid conveyed.
Furthermore, Omid disclosed that William, perceiving his brother as an "outsider" and justifying his decision to keep a distance from the Sussexes, believed that Harry was "no longer valuable as a beneficial distraction or collateral damage."
Omid explained, "He clarifies that Meghan is striving to evade being pulled 'back into the institution’s maelstrom of games and manipulations, the same vortex that had pulled them towards its dark heart for four years," emphasizing her unwillingness to 'plunge back into the soap opera of the court.
This sheds light on Meghan's absence from the King's Coronation in May. At that time, Prince Harry had declared his intention to attend his father's coronation, while his wife and their two children would stay behind.
