According to a recent addition to the royal literary collection, Prince William's wife, Kate Middleton, appeared disinterested in cultivating a connection with Prince Harry's significant other, Meghan Markle.
Published on a Tuesday, 'Endgame' asserts that the two royal spouses shared little common ground. The strain between the two brothers, Harry and William, further complicated matters in the early stages of their relationship.
Expressing sympathy for the Duchess of Sussex, Scobie writes in his latest work, "For Meghan, navigating her time as a working royal was often a lonely and isolating experience, with a glimmer of hope that Kate might offer an encouraging word during her lowest points."
"Once both outsiders, middle-class women brought into the House of Windsor for unimaginably different lives. However, Kate seemed disinclined to forge such a bond with Meghan."
The biographer, citing a source, notes in the book that Kate "can be cold" if she does not warm up to someone and "wasn't a fan" of Meghan.
Another source shared with the author, "She spent more time discussing Meghan than engaging in direct conversation with her."
Recent claims in 'Endgame' by Scobie suggest that Kate has "jokingly shivered" at the mention of her sister-in-law's name. Despite a previously positive bond between Kate and Harry, aged 39, Scobie implies that this relationship is now in the rearview mirror.
Quoting a source, Scobie writes, "She was closest to Harry, cherishing those moments and the connection he had with their children. However, trust seems an insurmountable bridge after all their interviews."
