Dominic West Opens Up About Ended Friendship with Prince Harry 10 Years Ago

Dominic West, renowned for his portrayal of King Charles in the hit Netflix series 'The Crown,' recently disclosed that his friendship with Prince Harry came to an end a decade ago.

The 54-year-old actor revealed on Sunday Morning on Times Radio that their falling out was a result of West sharing too much information during a press conference.

West confessed, "We sort of lost touch because I said too much in a press conference, and so, we didn't speak after that."

Pressed for details by presenter Kate McCann, West alluded to comments made at a 2014 press conference, where he may have divulged more than intended.

"I think I was asked what we did, what we did to celebrate when we got there and [I] probably said too much."

The reported rift occurred approximately a year after the duo's return from the Walking With the Wounded charity event in 2013, a charitable expedition with injured veterans through Antarctica. West had previously spoken glowingly of Prince Harry's involvement, highlighting his skills in constructing latrines and even creating a castle-like structure to shield against the wind.

Despite joining the cast of 'The Crown' in 2022 and embodying the role of King Charles, West shared that their friendship ending "over 10 years ago" prevented him from seeking advice from the Duke of Sussex regarding his portrayal. The revelation sheds light on a chapter in the actor's past, providing insight into the dynamics of his relationship with the royal figure.
