The third annual "Together at Christmas" carol service, to be held at Westminster Abbey, will be broadcasted across Britain on Christmas Eve.
According to a press release from Kensington Palace, the service aims to highlight the importance of creating "supportive, nurturing worlds around children and the adults in their lives."
Chief royal correspondent Jack Royston, reflecting on The Royal Report podcast, pointed out the potential outrage from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, labeling the move as "hypocritical."
He emphasized the Sussexes' consistent complaint about the lack of support and protection for Meghan during her struggles with mental health issues, especially during her pregnancy.
Royston highlighted that Meghan's lawyers stated in a court filing that she was left unprotected while pregnant. Additionally, Harry and Meghan have consistently argued that Meghan was one of the most trolled individuals globally in 2019, the year their son Archie was born.
The couple extensively shared their experiences within the Royal Family during an interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021, shedding light on Meghan's battle with suicidal thoughts due to negative press. They also disclosed that Meghan's plea for help was denied by the Palace and family members at the time. The juxtaposition of this narrative with Kate's initiative could potentially fuel tensions between the two camps.
