The Dutch translation of Omid Scobie’s new book, 'Endgame,' alleges that King Charles and Kate Middleton raised questions about Prince Harry and Meghan’s son's skin tone before his birth.
Despite the ongoing race row, both senior royals have maintained their high spirits during recent public appearances, with Kate gracing a red carpet event and King Charles delivering a speech at the Cop28 climate conference in Dubai.
However, the accusations have raised concerns about the monarchy's image. Joe Little of Majesty magazine noted that whether the allegations are true or not, they cast a "shadow of doubt" over the monarchy.
He emphasized, "The allegations, true or untrue, will clearly put doubt in the minds of people who are aware of the individuals who have been named. That can’t be helpful in any shape or form."
Little further explained the potential impact, stating, "But mud sticks, once the shadow of doubt is there it never really goes away, and it’s got to impact not only on the individuals but also the institution as a whole – it’s a long-lasting reputational damage."
As Kate and King Charles continue their royal duties without directly addressing the allegations, Buckingham Palace has yet to respond formally to the claims, and no members of the royal family have spoken about the accusations during official engagements.
