King Charles and Queen Camilla Embrace Festivities at Sandringham with Major Johnny Thompson and Anne

The festive cheer of the royal family has officially commenced as King Charles and Queen Camilla, accompanied by Major Johnny Thompson and Princess Anne, attended a traditional Christmas Eve church service at St Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham. The monarch, at 75, radiated holiday spirits, exchanging cheerful waves and conversations with well-wishers and even engaging with dog owners on their stroll.

As the royal entourage approached the church, King Charles shared warm smiles with the enthusiastic crowds gathered at the Sandringham estate, where many snapped photos of the moment on their phones.

Equerry Lieutenant Colonel Jonathan Thompson stood by the monarch's side, ensuring a secure entrance for the king and other senior royals into the church.

Later today, the Prince and Princess of Wales, along with their children and additional senior royals, will join King Charles and Queen Camilla on the Norfolk estate for the festive celebrations. However, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have opted to celebrate December 25th stateside at their residence in Los Angeles.

Contrary to reports, there is no truth to the speculation that King Charles and Queen Camilla are hosting a larger-than-expected family gathering, with Camilla's family joining them at Sandringham. The royal celebrations unfold with the anticipated reunion of family members at the picturesque Norfolk estate.
