The absence of Prince Archie, 4, and Princess Lilibet, 2, during the
Christmas festivities has left King Charles feeling a sense of longing. While
the monarch's younger son, Prince Harry, had a warm phone call and received
video messages from his grandchildren on his 75th birthday, the void is palpable
during the holiday season.
Former BBC royal reporter Michael Cole criticized Prince Harry and Meghan
Markle, branding their decision to keep the children away from their
grandfather as "appalling." Speaking on GB News, Cole emphasized the
significance of Christmas as a time for families to unite, expressing concern
that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are not participating in the festivities.
Expressing sympathy for King Charles, Cole remarked, "It must be very hurtful
for him that he doesn’t see his grandchildren in California, Prince Archie and
Princess Lilibet." He described the situation as "appalling," suggesting that
the demonstration of love should involve coming together during Christmas.
Cole urged Harry and Meghan to consider reaching out, making apologies, and showing the necessary contrition, emphasizing that such actions would be the true manifestation of love. Despite previous suggestions that the Sussexes might not refuse an invitation to Sandringham for the holidays, the rift has reportedly deepened, especially following revelations in Omid Scobie's royal biography, which unveiled names associated with the 'racist royals.'
