Meghan Markle found her living situation with Prince Harry akin to a 'jail
sentence' in a 'small house,' expressing discontent at not residing in a palace
post-marriage. The dream of a sprawling castle, absent from her life with Prince
Harry, turned Frogmore Cottage into an unexpected confinement.
Renowned royal author Tom Bower, in conversation with Closer!, unveiled
Meghan's dissatisfaction with their evolving living arrangements—from the
initial four-bedroom Nottingham Cottage to the subsequent Frogmore Cottage, a
five-bedroom home deemed too cramped.
Bower revealed, "She didn’t realize when she hooked up with Harry that he
didn’t have much money and wasn’t going to live in a palace." The pressure to
amass significant income in the UK was absent during their tenure in a more
modest abode, overlooking the Pacific.
"Meghan never wanted to live in a small house in England. For her, Frogmore was like a jail sentence."
Subsequently, the couple sought refuge in the luxurious enclave of Montecito, now residing in a £12 million mansion boasting nine bedrooms and 16 bathrooms across 5.4 acres.
Beyond mere shelter, this opulent residence reportedly features a library, gym, game room, wine cellar, office, and a spacious five-car garage.
