Natalie Portman recently shared an amusing anecdote about an encounter
with King Charles during an episode of Watch What Happens Live. The actress,
currently promoting her movie May December, recounted her experience at The
Phantom Menace premiere, where she met the British royal family.
Portman revealed that Prince Charles asked her if she was in the original Star
Wars films. Considering she was just 18 at the time and The Phantom Menace was
her first entry into the franchise, she responded with a humorous "No."
Despite the awkwardness, Portman mentioned that Prince Charles was very
friendly during the encounter.
The actress also spoke about her overall experience working on the Star Wars prequel trilogy, describing it as "amazing." She highlighted the challenges of working with green screens and digital technology, as it was her first time entering that aspect of filmmaking.
