Conservative MP Bob Seely has even called for the removal of the Sussexes' titles, suggesting a simpler reference as 'Mr' and 'Mrs.'
PR strategist Laura Perkes commented on the situation, noting that the Sussexes consistently echo a narrative that criticizes the royal family, leveraging their royal connection for personal gain.
Perkes, speaking to The Mirror, highlighted that Harry and Meghan may struggle if their titles are taken away, as they have prominently showcased them over the years. She emphasized that the couple has capitalized on their insider knowledge and behind-the-scenes events, but now, with their stories exhausted, they seem to have little to offer.
"They’ve sold all their stories and their version of ‘the truth.’ It really does look like they've been chewed up and spat out," she remarked, pointing out the inconsistency between their words and actions.
Stripping them of titles might align with their desire for privacy, but it would come at the cost of their reputation. Perkes concluded, "Their reputation as a couple, as well as individuals, would be completely ruined, and I can’t imagine that any brand wants to be associated with them anymore."
